The brothers Rupert and Michael Walchhofer, together with their families, have decided to expand the Walchhofer operations to include the 3-star Hotel Sportwelt in Zauchensee, thus creating a new offer for winter and ski holidaymakers in Zauchensee. Family Walchhofer in Zauchensee
for more than 50 years Hoteliers with heart
Already in the 1960s the then alpine pasture area of Zauchensee developed into an insider tip for discerning winter and ski holidaymakers. Grandfather Peter Walchhofer and his son Rupert recognized the trend of the time and built the Gasthof Zauchenseehof, which over time developed into two 4-star hotels. With great dedication and joy Maria and Rupert hosted their numerous guests. As proud parents of 6 children and now 23 grandchildren, they have always passed on their love of the outdoors and the joy of the hotel business. The children spent the summer at the Kuchelberggut in Altenmarkt and in the winter the deep snow slopes in the Zauchensee ski area enticed them. These wonderful experiences of childhood are the basis for the noticeable warmth and down-to-earth attitude. For decades, guests have been enjoying relaxing holidays in the family hotels run by the Walchhofer family.
